Before I met Rock and started training with him I had been in a very unhealthy, abusive relationship that stripped me of most my confidence and my motivation to do just about everything. A little while after the relationship ended, I decided that I really needed to do something in my life to make me feel strong and happy again. I got a gym membership, but I was super nervous to workout alone and I got really discouraged seeing all the equipment and not knowing how to use any of it. I decided that the best thing to do was to have someone teach me, that's when I met Rock.
Training with Rock is amazing because every time I train, we do something different but always very effective. He is really smart and safe about the way he teaches me how to lift weights so that I don't hurt myself and so that I get the most out of each movement. I do circuit training alongside weight training so I can tone my body while shedding body fat. Rock has shown me not only how to train well, but how to eat well.
I now go to the gym regularly and I am not nearly as intimidated by the equipment as I was. I am doing things now that I didn't think I would ever feel confident enough to do before I started training. I am not afraid to make friends, or to wear something that I feel good in. I don't feel weak anymore. I've learned that just because something bad has happened to you, doesn't mean that it has to affect your whole life, and just because you can't do squats today, does not mean that you won't be able to do them tomorrow.

"I was able to run the half marathon, which I thought I would never be able to do again, without pain."
My name is Julie Gill, I am 56 years old and still love to run. I like to run fast and I like to run far. Approximately 2 years ago, I injured my knee while running on a treadmill. I knew I would have problems with this knee, because I had severed my ACL more than 20 years ago and it was replaced with nuts and bolts. After much rest, I was unable to get back to the distance and speed that I love, and I couldn't run without pain. I went to a physical therapist for help without much success. I switched physical therapists and received a different prognosis, again, no success. I decided, I was too old to run.
Then, a friend suggested trying a personal trainer he knew, Rock Hudson. I decided to give it one more shot. I contacted Rock and informed him that I wanted to run a half marathon in 12 weeks without pain. I also gave him a list of all my ailments, hip pain, achilles tendon issues, lower back problems, he didn't blink an eye. We got to work right away. Rock introduced me to the core, literally, of my problems. It wasn't just a workout, it was an adventure, a collaboration, a success.
I believe our success was a direct result of Rock's ability to communicate clearly and his patience in listening to my concerns, it felt like team work, and because it felt like team work, I learned to trust him. I was able to run the half marathon, and I was able to do it without pain, and just under 10 minute miles. I really thought that I was too old to keep up this pace, but I am back on track to increase my speed and my distance, and I am very excited to see where my running will take me next. If and when I run into any more issues, Rock will be my first call.
