Your shoulder issue might actually start at your hip. We find the real source.
Hands-on work changes your tissue. Movement coaching teaches your body to keep it.
Session 1 sets up session 2. Each session builds on the last — nothing is random.
This isn't maintenance. It's a structural upgrade you do once.

How It Works
Not a one-size program. A logical sequence that addresses your structure, your patterns, and your goals.
We start by understanding your whole structure. 90 minutes of postural analysis, movement screening, and a close look at what's actually creating your pain or limitation, not just where you feel it.
You leave with a clear picture of what's going on and a specific plan forward. No guessing.
About the Systems Check →Hands-on fascial work releases the restrictions pulling your body out of balance. Each session also includes movement instruction so your nervous system learns to use its new organization, so the change actually holds.
This is systematic work, not symptom chasing. We address the pattern, not just where it hurts.
How it works →Structural change only sticks when it transfers into how you actually move. Movement education applies the work to your sport, your training, your job, your life: surfing, running, lifting, or just sitting at a desk without pain.
The goal isn't a perfect session. It's a body that performs better in everything you do.
About movement education →Is This Right for You?
The people who get the most out of this work are honest about wanting real change, not just another temporary patch.
Active adults (surfers, cyclists, runners) who want to stay in the game without breaking down
Adults in their 40s, 50s, and 60s serious about staying strong and mobile long-term
Athletes who want to move more efficiently and prevent the injuries that cut seasons short
People who've tried PT, massage, and chiro but keep ending up back at square one
Desk workers whose posture and movement have gradually shifted from years of sitting
Anyone dealing with recurring patterns that shift around or return no matter what they try
Looking for a one-off session and done
Uncomfortable with intensity. This work is thorough — not brutal, but not spa-gentle either.
Wanting a quick fix without committing to the process
In acute injury requiring medical clearance first
Hoping for passive "done to you" results without any participation

From clients in their own words, and from common journeys through the process.
"I asked my physical therapist to recommend a personal trainer, and she suggested Rock. From day one, I felt safe, respected, and appropriately challenged. He has a sharp eye for alignment and movement. His background in structural integration helped me understand why my body does what it does, not just how to muscle through an exercise."
Ellen M.
"Rock is an encyclopedia of anatomy knowledge with deep intuition on how to help people move through their physical challenges. I trust him to guide me into new skills and have never once worried about bad form or injury. The level of strength and comfort in my body that I've developed has exceeded all of my expectations."

The things most people wonder about before reaching out.
The free consultation is 15 minutes at no charge. That's always the first step. From there, sessions start at $180 for a single structural integration session. The Hip Series (4 sessions, focused hip work) is $720. The full 12-Series is a flat $3,000, with sessions that typically run 1.5 to 2 hours since it's priced by the series, not the clock. Movement coaching sessions run from $100 depending on length.
For the 12-Series, weekly sessions work best. Your body needs time between sessions to integrate the structural changes. Spacing too far apart slows the process. Most people complete the series over 3 to 4 months. For movement coaching, 1-2x per week depending on your goals and schedule. For maintenance after a series, every 6-12 weeks is common. We'll build a schedule that makes sense for your situation.
We start with about 20 minutes of intake, talking through your goals, history, and what you actually want from the work. Then we get moving. Depending on your goals, I'll walk you through a mobility routine first, then into a simple functional workout. The challenge builds each round as I see how you respond. We always start simple. The movement is the assessment, and the assessment is the workout. You leave with a clear picture of where your body is right now and a concrete plan for what we'll work on together.
No. Structural integration isn't covered by most insurance plans, and I don't bill insurance. Payment is due at or before each session. Some clients use HSA/FSA accounts; check with your provider to confirm eligibility.
No. Plenty of clients come in moving reasonably well and leave moving noticeably better: more efficient, less restricted, better balanced. Pain is one reason to do this work, but performance, longevity, and prevention are equally valid reasons. If you're active and care about staying that way, this work is for you.
Massage works with muscles for relaxation and temporary relief. Physical therapy is evidence-based rehabilitation, typically for acute injuries or post-surgical recovery. Both are valuable and have their place. Structural integration works with your fascial system, the connective tissue web that holds your whole structure together. It's systematic, progressive, and creates lasting change because we're reorganizing your structure, not just releasing tension.
Rolfing is one school of structural integration, developed by Ida Rolf. I practice Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (ATSI), developed by Tom Myers. Both share the same roots — systematic fascial work to reorganize the body — but ATSI uses a more contemporary understanding of anatomy and the fascial web. The principles are similar; the maps and techniques have evolved.
