Meet Rock Hudson

Rock Hudson - Structural Integration Practitioner and Movement Educator

I'm Rock Hudson, a certified structural integration practitioner and movement educator based in Santa Cruz. I bring expert bodywork and movement coaching directly to clients across the Bay Area, including Half Moon Bay.

My approach combines hands-on fascia work with personalized movement education. Rather than treating symptoms, I look at how your whole body moves and find the root patterns causing pain, stiffness, or limitation.

Whether you're a tech worker dealing with desk posture, a weekend warrior nursing an injury, or someone who wants to move and feel better as you age, I create a personalized plan that fits your body and your life.

Why Half Moon Bay Clients Choose Mobile Sessions

Half Moon Bay has a rural, coastal character that feels worlds away from Silicon Valley, even though it's just over the hill. The Coastside community includes farmers who work the pumpkin fields and flower farms along Highway 1, equestrians who ride at the local ranches, and big-wave surfers who challenge Mavericks when the winter swells arrive. Each group places very different demands on the body — the farmers deal with repetitive bending, lifting, and tractor vibration; the equestrians develop asymmetric hip and pelvic patterns from riding; and the Mavericks crew faces the extreme forces of heavy-water surfing. Mobile sessions let me bring specialized bodywork directly to your Coastside home, where I can also factor in the physical environment you navigate daily.

The Coastside Trail, stretching from Half Moon Bay State Beach down toward Poplar Beach, is a magnet for runners, walkers, and cyclists, and the surrounding bluffs and forest trails draw weekend hikers from across the Bay Area. But Half Moon Bay's cool, foggy climate means residents often exercise in conditions that promote fascial stiffness — the marine layer rarely burns off before afternoon, and the coastal wind is relentless. I regularly see clients here with chronically tight hip flexors, restricted rib cages, and compressed thoracic spines that are a direct result of bracing against wind and cold during outdoor activity. Structural integration addresses these patterns at the tissue level, not just the muscular level.

Getting off the Coastside for appointments means navigating Highway 92 over the Santa Cruz Mountains or crawling along Highway 1 — neither is a quick errand. This geographic reality is the number one reason my Half Moon Bay clients prefer mobile service. At just 60 minutes from my Santa Cruz studio, Half Moon Bay is one of the closer Coastside destinations I serve, and the drive along Highway 1 is one I know well. I bring my full setup to your home in town, in the rural stretches toward Pescadero, or in the newer developments near Main Street. The result is consistent, high-quality bodywork that fits into your Coastside rhythm rather than disrupting it.
