Meet Rock Hudson

Rock Hudson - Structural Integration Practitioner and Movement Educator

I'm Rock Hudson, a certified structural integration practitioner and movement educator based in Santa Cruz. I bring expert bodywork and movement coaching directly to clients across the Bay Area, including San Carlos.

My approach combines hands-on fascia work with personalized movement education. Rather than treating symptoms, I look at how your whole body moves and find the root patterns causing pain, stiffness, or limitation.

Whether you're a tech worker dealing with desk posture, a weekend warrior nursing an injury, or someone who wants to move and feel better as you age, I create a personalized plan that fits your body and your life.

Why San Carlos Clients Choose Mobile Sessions

San Carlos calls itself the "City of Good Living," and its residents take that ethos seriously — but good living doesn't mean pain-free living. The family-oriented community here skews toward active parents who hike Pulgas Ridge Open Space Preserve on weekends, coach youth soccer at Highlands Park, and squeeze in runs along the Caltrain trail before school drop-off. These are people who push hard and recover fast — until one day they can't. A mobile structural integration session at your home near Laurel Street or in the hills above Brittan Avenue means you don't have to carve out yet another block of time between kids' activities and work calls.

The charming downtown along Laurel Street gives San Carlos a small-town feel, but the reality is that most residents commute — north to San Francisco, south to Palo Alto and Mountain View, or locally to the office parks along Industrial Road. That commuter lifestyle creates a predictable set of postural problems: compressed lumbar spine from car seats, forward-head posture from laptops on trains, and tension headaches from the mental load of juggling a Peninsula career with family life. I see these patterns in virtually every San Carlos client I work with, and the home environment gives me clues about contributing factors that a clinic visit would miss.

What I appreciate about working in San Carlos is the quiet, neighborhood feel. Sessions at homes tucked into the hillside streets or along the tree-lined avenues near Arroyo Court have a quality of stillness that enhances the bodywork. Your nervous system responds differently when you're in a space you associate with safety and rest. For families, it also means a parent can book a session during nap time without arranging childcare or leaving the house. Several of my San Carlos clients are couples who alternate sessions back-to-back, making it an efficient investment in both partners' health.
